Battle Stage Plays, LLC seeks to deliver powerful messages through both side-splitting comedy and self-examining, gripping drama, which will it hopes will invariably leave an indelible mark on the lives of every man, woman and child who comes to see these powerful life-changing productions. Ursula V. Battle is the CEO and Founder of Battle Stage Plays, LLC. The Battle Stage Plays, LLC Team also consists of Dr. Gregory Wm. Branch, Director; Minister Tracey Stephenson, Assistant Director/Actress/Business Manager; Minister Carol Williams, Assistant Theatrical Director/Actress; and Dena Wane, Corporate Manager.
The company’s productions include several highly successful plays, which include: Ursula V. Battle’s “The Teachers’ Lounge”, Ursula V. Battle’s “My Big Phat Ghetto FABULESS Wedding”, Ursula V. Battle’s “DisChord in the Choir!”, "DisChord in The Choir: Pitch Please!" Ursula V. Battle’s ”FOR BETTER OR WORSE” and Ursula V. Battle's "Serenity House: From Addiction to Deliverance."
We believe the measure of a great production is one in which its message resonates and stays with audiences long after they have left the theater. Serenity House: From Addiction to Deliverance and our other shows are such productions. Our moving pieces exemplifies the power of theatre to bring about societal change through the Performing Arts.
Playwright Battle, who writes and produces her productions, first hit the Baltimore urban theatrical scene with the premiere of her groundbreaking production, “The Teachers’ Lounge.” This production and the subsequent ones that followed, led to a garnering of loyal playgoers in the Maryland region who highly anticipate and support her productions. They enjoy the fresh material, hilarious comedy, and deeply moving spiritual messages of these plays. The productions draw SELL-OUT AUDIENCES, who eagerly await each coming production. In 2016, Playwright Battle was named “The Newsome Award’s 2016 Playwright of the Year.” In 2018, she was a "Leah's Book Club Honoree". The prestigious honor is giving to women making outstanding contributions to their communities. She is also a Baker Awards Finalist and a 2021 recipient of the Patapsco Valley Links "Valiant Woman of Courage Award" for outstanding contributions to the Arts.
God is also using Playwright Battle to preach His Word through her plays, as she has penned biblically-based productions. They include: Abraham & Sarah, Noah’s Ark, Jacob, Rachel & Leah, The Father’s Day Return, Never Given Up, Jesus: The Right Choice, The Christmas Exchange, The Christmas Gift, The Crown of Glory & The Agony of Deceit, A Job Christmas, and Widows in The Hood. In April 2023, she will debut her new production, The Homegoing Service for A Man Named Jesus. Battle Stage Plays has presented productions throughout the Baltimore/Metropolitan area along with performances in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
Battle Stage Plays also performs plays for churches and other organizations as part of their fundraising activities and retreats. Battle Stage Plays ultimately seeks to empower, uplift, and encourage people in every stage of life to through these powerful and anointed productions.
